Hi is there any way i can use this caulk without having to buy the red item you use to push the caulk out? i only have one quick simple job to use it for. thanks
I used Stanley blades all my life until someone handed me some Irwin snubnose blades to use. First thing I noticed was how rigid the blade is and secondly how long the cutting edge lasted. Verdict.. Irwin blades are a superior product.
Can it be used outdoors
Pernickity neighbours!! Brilliantly nice way of putting it DIY Doctor! 😃👍
Vv
Nice video, thanks for uploading
Had the misfotune to buy a pro touch knife it is so hard to use and very dangerous i can not even open it.
Guys, if you would like to comment on this video, or find out more, just go to the DIY Doctor website and search for Corefix
Way way too technical...no help at all..ive sore ears now.. like being back at school..no wiser in fact its put me off..
Never mind John. If you didn't understand it then there is a good chance it's beyond you anyway. Thanks for the feedback though.......
This video and advice is unbelievably poor esp considering you are supposed to be a training facility. I dread to see the standards and competence of your unlucky students. Firstly, the pva dilution and application was incorrect. The mix you used is too weak to be used alone, It is ok for a first coat but should be followed up with a stronger second coat. Finish plaster is not applied to a thickness of 5mm, it is applied in two coats at a thickness of 1mm each to achieve a total of 2mm. The second coat is not applied to the first coat "straight away" as such. It is done once the first coat has firmed up a bit. Timing is important and "straight away" is far too vague. If you try to apply the second coat whilst the plaster is too soft you wont build up a proper second coat. You missed out 2 steps out of troweling up the wall and your advice on how to make it smooth is simply "make sure you get it smooth" Lastly, the "finished, smooth wall" was neither finished or smooth and your reccomendtion regarding the retarder is misleading. You say that there is only 30 mins to start and complete the wall without this product which is total nonsense and seems like a ploy to scare people into buying the product. It takes between 90 - 120mins to complete skimming a wall (without retarder), with a retarder the time could be as long as 3 HOURS. The instructions on the back of the bag are more in depth than this pathetic video and if you are charging people to "teach" them this tripe you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Wow Ian, you really must know your stuff.....Not. Please do not rubbish a tradesman with 40 years experience when clearly all you know is what you have read in a comic somewhere. The Industry really does not need your input as you definately be sticking to your day job as a complete and total
great film mike really helped me
Thanks, glad to help
id wear some boots too.
Hi DIY Doctor, can this be use for the purpose of industrial or car business use? thank you
Sure can Leo, but be careful it's very powerful
Mortar guns are very useful addition to the tool kit, this one is affordable and as good as you get for the money. As for using the tool and method (gun pointing) your presentation could focus on the type of mortar mix best for the tool, how to fill to tool effectively and finally some tips regards pointing. Your vids are all good fun but please keep your man off his knees it’s the worst position for working unless you’re asking for a raise of pay.
Thanks mate Brilliant just what I needed 👌
Glad to help Steve
shady
Definatley Mel, definately
The 'Pointmaster' is a far superior product in every way.
Each to his own
can I ask how much this costs?
Click on one of the Asbestos Sampling banners on this page www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/asbestos.htm
Can you feel asbestos fibres ticking your nose?
No Tom, they are absolutely tiny. You do not feel, see or smell anything with asbestos fibres at all. It takes years for them to embed themselves in the lining of the lungs etc when, unfortunately, it is too late to do anything about it.
No Tom, asbestos fibres are all microscopic and all are very very dangerous
I think boots would be better suited then sneakers in this
I like the idea of the gun... using the roughneck one on a house but find the nut holding the base of the plunger comes loose and falls off... the gun is only a week old, well cared for, not abused, good results but why does the nut come loose, fall off and has me searching for it in the mortar mix still in the gun.... or worse in the bucket of mortar once I empty the contents of the gun out. Love to know why this problem occurs or is it a fault with the gun. Thinking of gluing the nut in place so it cannot work loose. any help appreciated as still a fair bit of pointing to do.
Complain to Roughneck Philomena
The inlet seems to leak when you switch the machine on in the video... is there a Nilfisk connected that can be used from the hose to the machine
Wht happens when one or two of the clips on top come out from a couple of the folds??? how do you fix it for yourself?
Is this base for a pre made shed? Does the insulation really make a difference to the shed?
Looks a good product. You have quite a few videos recommending this product and a permanent logo in the videos. Are you shilling for Rizistal? It's okay if you are but you should really say if you are.
Ha, iv just used this with no PPE... it's not that fucking dangerous unless you don't hold onto it tight. Iv just used it to chop up my sofa... worked well although the chain kept coming off.
what a great way to save money thankyou
"Do as I DO & not as I say", lol. you got that the wrong way around.
Thanks DIY Doc., great film and sound advice
There was enough on his finger to do half the book case !
when it sets or dries what colour is it?
Instead of masking tape, just apply the sealant then spray the area with soapy water. The seal and can then be tooled as shown in the vid, but it won't smear up the sides because it doesn't stick to soapy water.
lmao a sharp chisel lol. I aplaud you for making a video to show others but you really have no idea. don't use washing up liquid it will break down the sealant. sizes go from 16mm to 32mm that's a cavity of between 6mm to 24mm I have run loads of tests sealants and even made my own hot melt machine to make sealed units. there's plenty more to write about but I'm sure it can wait.
Where's the PPE?
I would like to see this used on old grease / fat stains in a kitchen.
What is the pipework that tees off with the silver fitting between the pump and the moterized valve?
hi when fitting isolating valve the arrow has to go to the flow if installed wrong way round what will happen thanks
You pointed out that the body of the valve has an arrow on it, to indicated the direction of water flow through the valve. As each end of the valve appears to be a mirror image, and the cut-off ball revolves 360 degrees, how important is it to have the arrow and water flow correctly aligned? Would the valve still work correctly and without problems, if it was fitted the opposite way round ie. with the incoming water flowing in the opposite direction to the the arrow?
Yeah tamper proof.......ran to shop and bought side cutters 👍
can you donate me your hs. blade?
ivor is not pleased
In the video, you show a brush finish! The final painted shot show's a finish to match existing stipple finish. What paint and applicator did you use?
Thank you.
Your video just saved me from flooding my bathroom! Thanks 👍👍 I've had to replace wall mounted bath shower mixer taps (seized on hot and full on!) and decided whilst about it to put isolator valves in to make life easier in future! (we've had to have the water turned off for 2 weeks, turning it on just to wash dishes or run the bath (flushing loo with jugs out of the bath! Been a nightmare!!😱) Plumber no showed 3 times (!!) so I decided to have a go myself. I was really struggling to do the nuts up tightly because of the tight squeeze inside the wall... still really struggle to handle the big wrench tool and the small one in confined space. Can you just use two small ones?
Why don't they make cisterns with this already pre installed?
Very well , and clearly explained
thanks for english subtitle.
look really confortable
the drain pipe from my bath tub is leaking at the compression fitting. It is the larger black pipe. Do I replace the whole fitting or just the gasket?
